Paste Present Future artworks arrive at Atom Gallery | The city-wide protest poster curated by Grow Up in collaboration with UNCLE. Thirty-five artists were invited to answer one question: what’s your big issue?

Big Issue started on the streets of London in 1991: a magazine sold by people experiencing homelessness, a way to earn instead of being handed charity. For its 35th birthday, Grow Up teamed up with Big Issue and wildposting crew UNCLE to put the language of protest back where the magazine began...

FIRST: THE STREETS OF LONDON
From 29 August, the posters went up across London. Pasted onto walls where Big Issue vendors sell every week, with a dense cluster on Sclater Street, Shoreditch.

THEN: THE SHOW.
From 3 September, the work moved into Laundry Studios, Hackney, mounted on advertising panels Grow Up built by hand to look like the street.

WHO’S BEHIND IT
Grow Up was founded by BLAM and his son Jack. Before Grow Up, BLAM created the original Trainspotting poster campaign in 1995. In 2025, Grow Up’s anti-fascist parody The Turd Reich was given away free and downloaded more than 100,000 times. It was pasted up and carried at protests across the US and it also melted the internet. This is their second outing with Atom and Big Issue, after their huge hit show Trainspotters.

SILENCE IS COMPLIANCE.
