About Atom

    our story

Atom Gallery was founded in 2014 by Mark Perronet. Initially located in Finsbury Park, in 2016 it moved to its current premises in Stoke Newington and Richard Pendry joined as co-owner. Over the last 12 or so years it has built a solid reputation as a friendly and independent gallery and print studio, offering a wide range of affordable prints and putting on a variety of group and solo exhibitions.

The Team

    Mark Perronet

    FOUNDER

Mark began screen printing in his parents’ garden at sixteen and continued through his fine art course at Middlesex Polytechnic. After a stint in corporate photography, the rise of Banksy and street art rekindled his love of print. He launched Artswipe, a free paper featuring artists like Eine, Pure Evil, and dr.d, then rebranded as Atom Printing with a gallery and studio. His first show — Pocket Money Loans by Darren Cullen — gained national attention and featured at Dismaland. After meeting Richard, they carried the project forward to new premises at 127 Green Lanes.

    Richard Pendry

    CO-FOUNDER

After a decade spent living in Europe and producing digital illustrations and designs for online games, Richard sold his business and took up screenprinting full-time. He is co-owner of Atom Gallery and can usually be found in Atom's basement print studio, where he prints his own work and editions for other artists. His favourite artist is Robert Rauschenberg, and his favourite sandwich is blue cheese, beetroot and horseradish.

    Skye Hurwitz

    GALLERY MANAGER

With a degree in experimental psychology, Skye might already know what you think of the exhibition — and she’s choosing not to comment. A vintage fashion aficionado who also enjoys statistical coding, she’s a curious mix of style and spreadsheets. When not managing the gallery, she moonlights as a bassist & DJ for the rhythmically inclined.
