This work is part of SoulD_Art's Urban Angels collection, which explores kindness, self-acceptance and our connection to one another. The Urban Angels remind us to look beyond separation and judgement, embracing ourselves and others with compassion. The artist created the Angel from an original portrait captured during a photoshoot, directing the imagery to create the character and presence they wanted for the work. They then translated the photograph into a halftone stencil, spraying the image onto the flattened cardboard packaging and allowing the raw, reclaimed material to become an integral part of the piece. The combination of the human portrait, bold stencil process and discarded urban material reflects the artist's belief that beauty, strength and connection can emerge from unexpected places.
