This print is inspired by The Night of the Hunter, Davis Grubb’s 1953 novel and Charles Laughton’s haunting 1955 film adaptation. A dark Southern Gothic fairytale, it follows two children fleeing a sinister preacher across a dreamlike river landscape, and remains one of cinema’s most striking studies of good and evil, with its expressionist shadows and unforgettable imagery.
