Danny Noble’s Ollie and Alan is inspired by a scene from Ken Russell’s 1969 film Women in Love, in which Oliver Reed and Alan Bates wrestle naked by firelight in one of cinema’s most famous scenes. As Noble tells it, the frisson was so great that the pair have been unable to get dressed ever since.
