In this work, Ceal draws on Ari Aster’s folk horror Midsommar (2019), taking the Film Club brief to “riff on a cult classic” literally! She tells a short story across two pages: on one side, the May Queen sheds tears of grief (Midsommar Nightmare); on the other, she smiles maniacally (Midsommar Dream).
