Grow Up
“Grow Up” is a creative partnership between a father and son, born out of the 2020 lockdown.
Jack Blamire and his father, Blam work together across graphic art, typography, stencilling and mixed media.
Jack Blam is is a skateboarder with a growing passion for graffiti and painting. His father, Blam, is a snowboarder and an established graphic designer. The pair drew inspiration from the pressure placed on young people (and not-so-young people) to “grow up”, and from the way everyday life affects mental health. Jack began exhibiting professionally at just 14 years old, contributing paintings to the Art Car Boot Fair in December 2019, where his pieces were displayed alongside the work of many artists he admires.
Blam’s graphic design has earned recognition at the highest level; his work is part of the V&A Museum’s 20th Century collection in London. He has also created and exhibited pieces for the Design Museum’s “50 Years of Helvetica” exhibition, a project he curated in collaboration with 50 artists.
